This is another "hot coffee" lawsuit, meaning, "customer got life-threatening injuries from lack of safety mechanisms, and the company has convinced the press that it's actually Karen Bitching About Breaking A Fingernail."

Whenever you see these: Remember that even sleazeball ambulance-chaser lawyers are not going to take on mega-corporations like McDonald's or Disney if they don't think they have a real case.

It is, in fact, a crime and a violation of lawyer ethics code - like, the kind that can get them sanctioned or disbarred if it's bad enough - to take on cases that they know are bogus; it's considered a waste of the court's time, which is a waste of public resources. They are literally not allowed to present a case to the court that they know damn well is not a valid claim for damages.

If you drop a coffee cup on your foot, and it is bruised and sore for a week... no lawyer is going to help you sue McDonald's for having slippery coffee cups.

But that's the kind of thing they are trying to claim happened here, tried to claim happened in the Liebeck coffee case. (...Don't google for the images unless you have a strong stomach.)

According to the report, while TEN estimates that one in five Jewish American households earn less than $50,000 a year, they are one-tenth as likely as wealthy Jews to appear in movies and TV shows. Moore primarily focused on works made since 2008, concluding that only three of 85 films during that time depicted Jewish poverty at all and that Jewish poverty is typically portrayed in the context of American Dream-style upward mobility. Some portrayals of wealth in Jewish communities conform to antisemitic stereotypes, the study concludes.

Cops who killed Tortuguita won’t be charged

No charges will be brought against the Georgia State Troopers who fatally shot an activist who was protesting the planned construction of a police training center outside of Atlanta.

Manuel Teran, 26, was shot 57 times by police in January while protesting the intended site of the new training facility, dubbed “Cop City” by critics. Teran, who went by the nickname Tortuguita, was nonbinary and used they/them pronouns.

In a statement, Stone Mountain Judicial Circuit District Attorney George Christian said the six officers who shot Teran acted lawfully.

“The use of lethal (deadly) force by the Georgia State Patrol was objectively reasonable under the circumstances of this case,” Christian wrote. “No criminal charges will be brought against the Georgia State Patrol Troopers involved in the shooting of Manuel Perez Teran.”

Police said Teran was camped out along with other protesters on the grounds of the planned training center when Georgia State Troopers moved in to remove them. Teran is accused by police of shooting at officers through their tent four times with a 9 mm pistol, injuring an officer.

The Georgia Bureau of Investigation alleged Teran had gun residue on their hands. But an autopsy from the DeKalb County Medical Examiner’s Office and another independent autopsy did not detect the presence of gunshot residue.

The independent autopsy also found that Teran had their hands raised in the air when they were fatally shot.

“Manuel’s left and right hands show exit wounds in both palms,” a statement from attorneys representing Teran’s family said at the time. “The autopsy further reveals that Manuel was most probably in a seated position, cross-legged when killed.”

Georgia State Troopers are not required by law to wear body cameras, but nearby Atlanta Police Department body cameras did capture an officer suggesting that another officer had been shot by friendly fire. There was apparently no footage of the shooting itself.

Alot of Amerikkkan police recieve special training overseas from the IDF. Both forces regularly execute unarmed people on a whim. This pig shot them 57 times, they should shoot the cop 58 times.

Image description of a tweet by alice avizandum: Just remembering that in Sderot, the city closest to Gaza and currently being attacked by Hamas, in 2014 Israelis used to bring seats and binoculars and popcorn to watch the air strikes.

Pictures of colonialists watching terrorism as entertainment accompany.

End description.

I just want to add that Sderot was built on top of a Palestinian village called Najd, which was ethnically cleansed in 1948.

Woke up to the beautiful news of Palestinians in Gaza stripe (over 70% of whom are refugees forced to live in Gaza after being ethnically cleansed from other parts of Palestine by Israel) breaking out of the illegal Israeli blockade on them for the first time in almost 2 decades and reclaiming stolen Palestinian land for the first time in 7 decades while making the illegal settlers squatting in Palestinian houses rush to the airport and fly back to their home countries that they came to Palestine from in the first place or hide in the trash container where they belong.

They did all of this without having a formal military and reusing Israeli weapons that were used against them and I know without a doubt that hypocritical western media and politicians will come out with fake crocodile tears to show sympathy to Israel and claim that they have the right to defend themselves against "terrorist" Palestinians, even though what is happening to them today isn't a fraction to what they have been doing to Palestinians for 70 years straight and that if anyone is defending themselves here, its the refugees forced to live in the world's biggest open-air prison, not their occupiers.

I don't know what will happens next, I wouldn't be surprised if Israel used their funded-with-billions-from-the-US military power to steal back all the land Palestinians reclaimed, re-install the apartheid wall to continue the illegal blockade on Gaza as well as perform collective-punishment on as many Palestinian civilians as possible as revenge on the humiliation they suffered, all while calling themselves the victims and the people they're killing.occupying the terrorists.

Either ways today was a big day in the decolonization of Palestine and a huge blow to the settler-colony of Israel's regime and ego.
